The National Nordic Heritage Museum to feature a special exhibition
Nina Katchadourian: Origin Stories
Nina is an interdisciplinary artist whose work includes video, performance, sound, sculpture, photography, and public projects. Five projects will be displayed throughout the Nordic Museum about family traditions, stories, games, and mythologies which have shaped her artistic practice.

You may recognize her last name. Yes, Nina is the daughter of Stina Katchadourianauthor of The Lapp King’s Daughter: A Family’s Journey Through Finland’s Warsand former guest speaker atThe Swedish Finn Historical Society.
A personal note from Stina to SFHS members:
“Hello!
This is to tell you, as a proud Mom, that my daughter Nina Katchadourian who is half Swedish Finn will have a show at the Nordic Museum in June.”
There will be an opening from 6-8:30 pm on Friday June 20th (for Nordic Heritage Museum members only). On Sunday June 22nd at 3 pm Nina will give an artist’s talk that will include a conversation with Douglas Robertson. (Douglas was one of the survivors of a sinking sailboat south of the Galapagos which led to 40 days drifting in a dingy before a miraculous rescue. This event is the subject of one of Nina’s shows. Douglas is flying over from England for this.)
The artist talk is free for Heritage Museum members and $5 for non-members.

The exhibition is included in a paid General Admission ticket, except on Free First Thursdays. On the first Thursday of every month, General Admission is free and tickets to this exhibition may be purchased for $5 at the door. General Admission Tickets Prices: Adults: $20, Senior (65 yr+): $16
