How can we help you?
Renew online and your membership will automatically renew annually on the anniversary of your last renewal date. If you’re not sure when you last renewed, just send us an email or give us a call. If you renew by check, your membership expires December 31st every year.
After you sign up for a membership you will receive a welcome email. The email will include directions on how to set up your login to access the member portal. If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder or reach out to us for help.
Dive into past events, enjoy a digital subscription to Kusiner, explore the Runeberg Leading Star archives, and Documenting Every Immigrant Database. You can also watch past Parish Coffee Hour videos.
You receive three free hours of genealogy or translation assistance with your membership! Click here to submit a genealogy query. For translations, email us your digital scans at info@swedishfinnhistoricalsociety.org . If you are sending photos taken with your cellphone or camera, please make sure to hold the camera level and parallel to the document. The photo should be clear and high enough resolution to allow for our translators to zoom in.

We are happy to scan pages from books in our library upon request. Please call us at 206-706-0738 or email us at info@swedishfinnhistoricalsociety.org to ask about a records request. To check our library inventory you can click here. If you are not sure what book you need information from, we can help you with that too.
Check your spam folder first and add info@swedishfinnhistoricalsociety.org to your email contacts. If you’re still not getting our emails, update your email address with us or contact us if you think you’ve unsubscribed by mistake.
All members can read Kusiner, our triannual publication, online for free in the member portal. Members who prefer to receive Kusiner sent to them by mail in hard copy can subscribe for $25 annually. Occasionally we send all members issues for free.
We love visitors! If you plan to visit our office in Seattle, please give us a call ahead of time. While appointments aren’t required, letting us know beforehand helps us ensure we’re available to assist you.
Our office hours are Monday-Thursday 10 AM-5 PM. Fridays are by appointment only.
