Amerikakören 1960

During the summer of 1960 a choir from the Swedish speaking parts of Finland visited the US and Canada. This was the first visit of a choir of this kind after the war. The trip was covered in local newspapers in cities along the tour and also in Finland’s press. A recording was made in Chicago with the help of Erhard Alm—whose roots were in Kronoby and Terjärv. Only a few copies of the album remain. This copy was made from Aidi Holmqvist’s record album and donated to The Swedish Finn Historical Society in 2006.
