Parish Records
Villages and farms of Lappfjärd were recorded in T.W. Karsten’s work, Svesk Bygd I Osterbotten: Nu Och Fordom. 2 Lappfjärd Parish Communion records were not used to confirm these findings. Because parish Communion records are listed by farm name and because farm names often were used as a part of a person’s name, it is interesting to note the following farms.

Of Interest
Early Swedish Protection
Tobbe from Tjöck, Michael from Lappfjärd and Anders from Sastmola, went to see King Birger in Stockholm in 1303 AD to confirm their rights to lands on the eastern shores of the Baltic Sea. The confirmation letter from King Birger has been preserved in several copies. The copy used for the purpose of the linked film is kept at Uppsala University Library (Diplomatarium Fennicum 242). This film was produced by Medeltidens Österbotten.
