Finnish Deaths from Northern State Hospital

The Swedish Finn Historical Society has identified a significant finding from the recently digitized death register by The Seattle Times. We’ve identified approximately 130 Finnish emigrants who passed away at Northern State Hospital. Notably, the Swedish Finn Historical Society was cited in a recent Seattle Times article, which was part of their series on Northern State Hospital. Additionally, The Seattle Times has asked us for our research for follow-up articles.

We’ve compiled a spreadsheet containing details about potential individuals of Finnish emigrants who died at Northern State Hospital. We extend a warm invitation to all of our dedicated genealogy enthusiasts to consider joining us in this meaningful research effort. By shedding light on the stories of these 130 individuals, who have long been overlooked, participating genealogists could see their research in The Seattle Times. Your contribution to this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.
